ENG115 CommunicationSkills I     

This is a non-credit course compulsory for the students who fall short of the expected English proficiency level by close margin. The course aims at helping these students improve their English so that they can easily pursue their academic studies. Course activities are designed in such a way that students will be equipped with the knowledge of language structure and vocabulary. To this end, students will be provided with intensive and extensive reading activities, meaningful writing exercises, challenging speaking tasks, and academic listening practice. Moreover, the course intends to help the students improve their learning strategies so that they will become communicative, independent and active learners. Students’ performance at the end of the semester will be assessed on the basis of ‘S’ (satisfactory) or ‘U’ (unsatisfactory) grading system and students will not be able to graduate unless they score ‘S’ in this course.
